My Insanely Wonderful Spot

Next week, I am registering for four classes with the local community college . I’m going for two certificates…one in Graphic Design with Web Specialty and one in Web Design and Development. So three of those classes are design classes and one is a watercolor class that I’m taking because I want to. All of these classes start in September and I'm so excited.

I have an insanely wonderful spot in the world right now. I am living with and engaged to the Man I Love who makes such gorgeous Mediterranean spreads, I have beautiful and good family and friends (this includes the two felines in my life, of course), and I have access to things like this computer which I use to post blog entries. Plus, now I’m a knitter. And soon to be painter. And I'm not one of the millions of unemployed in the country. For everything, really, I am 100% super lucky.

I added a link to one of my new favorite blogs. It’s called Craft Hope. I am going to do some research and see if my little group at work can’t contribute in some way to those efforts. Check it out…it’s good stuff.

Pictures?

For my mom's birthday, I made her a Robin pillow:

Here's Wilbur helping me model it:

And here's a detail of the embroidery on the back:

This is my first knitting project. It'll be a lap blanket...the main color is the blue and I'll have a few rows of the purple wool every now and then:

Here's Claude helping me decide which book to read next. We settled on The Man Who Listens to Horses:

On Saturday, we had everyone out again...but this time we were a hundred times better equipped grill-wise! Jill and Tony got Casy a grill for graduation and I am enjoying what comes off of it as much as Casy enjoys using it! Thanks, JT...and we're really looking forward to seeing you guys in a few weeks!

In addition to Casy's chicken-on-the-grill, we had some sweet Jersey corn...

And for dessert, I made a plum-raspberry crumb tart. I needed something to make in my springform pan, which hadn't been used. This is before baking:

And this is after:

Love, T.

  1. My youngest nephew is looking so big! Claude is as handsome as ever. And I am aching for some of that Jersey corn.

    Love yous.
