Happy Anniversary to Us!

One wonderful year down, 500 million wonderful years to go!

Or at least 74 more. I think 75 years of marriage is a decent goal.

We celebrated everything we had to celebrate with a picnic in the park.

It was still just a little cool outside, but really perfect for sitting in the grass with a sweater on, reading, knitting, and sleeping. We stayed out there for a few hours, breathing in the fresh air and relaxing.

All I could think about is how seriously blessed we are.

I can't imagine life without him.

Then, when we were fed and rested, we packed up and went back home for some birthday cake.

Oh, hello!

I was going to write about what it's like to be gone from a blog space for so long (I mean, I basically skipped spring) and how daunting breaking that absence is...but then my sister essentially did that for me, with a quiet reminder to chill out.

There is so much to write about. But for tonight, in the name of easing back into things, I will leave you with some pictures of the spring I skipped and we'll start officially catching up tomorrow. In random order. Because somehow, that makes me feel better about my neglect over the last months.

Hard to believe spring is only a couple weeks away! I'm looking forward to fresh air, new leaves, and baby animals...but I'll also miss winter. Until next year, snow!
