The Big Four are done. Casy and I ate breakfast at Theresa's Gourmet Deli on Saturday morning, loved it and loved her. We talked about a menu and she's going to send us a quote this week.
Now we need to get Casy's ring, resize mine, dry clean my dress, buy our wholesale flowers and favors, mail the invitations, and write our vows. Oh, and do the whole marriage license thing.
-:- Work Updates -:-
Today is my last day of tutor training...I'll be there from noon to 8PM. I love learning about this stuff but I do not love tutorbacks (practice tutoring with another trainee...they insist that we high five each other all. the. time. and it's so weird). And then I'll get a student!
Casy is thinking about applying for a few Ph.D programs in geology. This would mean a career change for him and a move for us. His top picks right now are Michigan State, Brown, University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and Cornell. I love moving to new places, so that will be fun for me...and then I'll just be Casy's sugar mama until I become his baby mama.
-:- Miscellaneous -:-
We've been good about cooking, even with such busy schedules, and I've been good about finding time for things I love to do. I'm reading the Harry Potter series for the first time and made a patchwork pillow out of the fabric from Grandma Shirley. Still haven't cracked open that apron pattern...but I'm working up to it.
Casy hasn't been bringing a ton of work home during the week, either. He had his mid-year review last week and it went pretty well, so I think his principal is relaxing a little. It's nice to be with each other in the evenings and talk about/think/do things that are not related to work.
The boys have a new knack for finding the yarn I'm working with and unrolling it all over the house during the night. They are totally uninterested in yarn that I'm not working with. They will only play with it if there's a project attached to it. And they go into my bag to get it! Each time. It blows my mind. I think it's mostly Claude...he's our little yarn baby...and I also think we underestimate him because he's so quiet and gentle. But inside he's a little yarn terror!
I went through a phase where I was pretty picture-happy because I was learning about Casy's camera, but in the last couple of weeks I haven't picked it up much...here are a few random pics from when we remember that cameras exist and we do, in fact, own a very nice one.
Dinner made by Casy, pillow made by me.
Love, T.
