Our Trip to Oklahoma

Happy New Year! We’ve spent a wonderful week with family in Oklahoma and now we’re prepping ourselves for work in the AM.

We started our week with a visit to see little Jaxon (and the rest of his family!) in Edmund. He is the sweetest baby and he’s so expressive. When he’s not happy, he scrunches his little face up and when he is happy, his eyebrows shoot up about two inches.

Then we got to spend some time with aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins from the Frazier side over some beans and cornbread and stew. Two highlights of that night were meeting little Keyndall, the newest member of the family, and getting a jean quilt from Grandma Shirley!

The next day we had Indian tacos with homemade (and awesome) guacamole, seven layer dip, and cheese dip...followed by a gingerbread making contest and a wine and cheese tasting. Such a fun day! I think the jury is still out on who won the contest...I think everyone got a vote!

We also went out to see Grandpa Roy and Ona Mae and to ask permission to use their barn for our Oklahoma wedding celebration. Grandpa Roy said it was okay with them, which was wonderful news! We also decided on doing something in the fall...sometime in October...instead of in the summer. It will be much cooler then. The space is awesome and Jill already has some great ideas!

We also visited Jairus and Blayze, Taylor and the casinos, and the Andersons and Martins. We didn’t have much luck at the casinos, but we’re looking at it as a donation to the tribe!

On New Year’s Day, Jill and I went into Ponca for some shopping and to see Brace’s Books and then we ate this delicious meal:

It was another great trip and it’s always good to see family and to catch up! We miss you guys already! Thanks for being wonderful hosts!

Love, T.
