The Past Days

-:- Thursday -:-

After work, I went to the North Star Science Fair and it was a-mazing! I couldn't find Casy at first (he was in a meeting with a parent) so I just started asking the kids about their projects and let me tell you. They are incredible kids. I have never met such a large group of articulate, confident, smart 8th graders in my life.

They were all incredibly enthusiastic about their projects, wanting to talk about them and answer questions. They had obviously put a lot of thought into their work and for the few who didn't quite hit the nail on the head science-wise, they all knew it and addressed it in their analyses/"what I would do differently next time" thoughts.

One girl said, "Well, I didn't start working on this soon enough...I kinda ran out of time, so if I could do it differently, I would start working on it sooner." I could totally empathize with that. She also told me that the questions I was asking were the same ones Mr. Fath asked!

And speaking of Mr. Fath, how amazing is he to work so hard helping these kids be such awesome people and students? Pretty amazing.

-:- Friday -:-

Friday morning I had to call the vet to set up an appointment for Claude. The poor guy was having some trouble with his booty and was due in for a checkup anyway. So I took a half a day and we went to the doctor.

Turns out, Claude had plugged up (and very full) anal glands! I won't go into detail about what happened next, but Claude has certainly become much happier since he's had a chance to recover from his little ordeal. He conked out pretty hard on our way home.

The doctor said we shouldn't have this problem again...but I was doing some research and this usually happens to cats when they're not getting enough fiber in their diets...so I'm going to try to find some fiber treats or something to help him out a little!

When I got home, I painted some furniture and started rearranging our living room and dining room, which continued into...

-:- Saturday -:-
I consider rearranging furniture to be mini-moves. Instead of packing everything up and moving to a new place, I can rearrange furniture and feel good as new! I've done this about three times since we've been here, but I think I struck gold this last time. Everything seems lighter and more fresh. And we changed our dining room to be a sitting room/hobby room since we rarely use it to eat anyway.

Wilbur likes the new arrangement too.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends!
Love, T.
