Yesterday, Casy and I braved the big winter storm and went to NYC after not having been there for a good 6 months. We really enjoyed ourselves...it helps to know that we can leave the city and go back to our slower paced town at the end of the night. I think we enjoy the energy that the city offers a bit more that way. Since our last post was text-heavy, I’m going to make this one image-heavy. Casy took a bunch of pics on his iPhone in addition to my camera pics, but we’ll have to show you those when we see each of you again.
The first thing we did was stop for breakfast. We found this neat little cafe downtown and had the best breakfast sandwiches ever.
Then we took a walk.
I had a really good hot chocolate, made with dark chocolate shavings, at the Union Square Holiday Market. One sip was enough for Casy. I was able to down the rest with very little trouble.
We bought books at the Strand. I felt sorry for this lion...he’s stuck watching that pipe for the rest of his life, poor guy.
Then we took another walk.
Every time we go to New York, we have to stop to have a pizza at No. 28, our favorite place in New York.
Then we went to see the tree...
...and the Macy’s windows (big shout out to Grandma Shirley...we thought about you and Grandpa Ray a lot during this trip)!
When we got back home, we discovered inches of snow! It was wonderful and peaceful and white, even as we trudged through it!
It kept snowing all night long and we woke up to this:
Hope you're enjoying your Sundays!
Love, T.
Your photography is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAnd you make me miss the city.
Can't wait to see you. xoxo
