This week, in the wee hours of the morning, I heard Wilbur chirping at our dining room window, so I went to watch him go crazy over a bird. I found him with all four paws in my thyme plant, looking very uncomfortable. When he noticed me, he gave me a look that said, “I don’t know how I got here. Really.” It was very sweet.
Last weekend, my handsome and talented fiancé assembled a cubed storage unit for my crafting stuff. It didn’t give me enough room to store all of the fabric that Grandma Shirley sent up (or all of my yarn, now that I’m fully stocked for Christmas), but we got a good chunk of it in there. The rest will have to live in the second bedroom!
And speaking of the 2nd bedroom, clearing out my crafting stuff led to finding a home for the rest of the books from that closet. So then, we were super inspired and decided to dedicate tomorrow morning to organizing the rest of that room. And it very badly needs it. It might turn into an all day event with just a few breaks for attending the Grand Re-Opening of Scraptasia and some antique shopping (Casy needs some suitcases to use as storage for his photography stuff and I’d like some small glass bottles for plant cuttings).
I would take some before pictures, but the before is just too embarrassing…you’ll have to settle for some after pictures.
I can’t stop myself from thinking about December. I’m trying to live more in the moment, appreciating my present instead of looking forward all the time, but I am just so excited about December. It’s my favorite month… I love the smell of pine, Christmas music, spicy cakes, and snow. I love sweaters and wool stockings and thinking about gnomes and trolls. I love rice pudding and oatmeal and Christmas cookies. It's all very magical...and will be here in less than a month!
Anyway, here are some pictures.
My little crafting area, constructed by Casy:
Where's Wilbur? This came in a package of yarn and Wilbur is still playing with it. He loves it more than any other toy we've bought for him...
The bulbs in the gloomy cellar...they're growing quickly!
And our sweet Claude sleeping on Casy's dirty laundry:
Love, T.
